After holding a wide variety of jobs in her early 20s (including fire extinguisher sales person, silver service waitress, and yoga teacher), British artist Sam Toft moved to Liverpool and studied art and design at City College. Her strong work ethic and a healthy imagination helped her to become a full-time artist and go on to create a world of imaginary friends, including the widely popular Mr. Mustard. Today Sam works from a seaside studio with the company of her dogs and BBC Radio 4. She dabbles in creative writing, sculpture and has recently made a whole cast of puppets from her well-loved characters.
