Considered one of the greatest films ever made, Jaws was released in 1975 and quickly became the highest-grossing film of its day. It’s the story of a great white shark that attacks swimmers on Amity Island, and the trio of men who set out to kill it. Jaws had giant impacts on the movie industry, in which it won several awards for music and editing and made Steven Spielberg a household name; it also left its effect on audiences with a reported nationwide reduced beach attendance in 1975.
