The Guardians of the Galaxy first came to life as a superhero team in a 1969 Marvel comic book. Decades later, with new characters and an expanded storyline, the Guardians hit the big screen in 2014 with Peter Quill, Rocket, Gamora, Groot, and Drax working together in an attempt to defeat Ronan the Accuser and save the galaxy. The 2017 sequel, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, reunites the team and sees the return of Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper in their celebrated roles. As part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this ragtag team can also be found in the renowned Avengers films.
